Where you live could be to blame for bad hair days – study reveals the best & worst US states for skin and hair health
BEAUTY pros have weighed in on what states are giving the best — and worst — looks.
They analyzed several factors that could be affecting hair, skin, and nails.
Clarin’s shared their state-by-state beauty calculator to their website.
They cited factors like air quality, water type, and even the weather to illustrate the best and worst places for beauty.
Clarin’s also paid close attention to tap quality, as it is usually what people use to wash their face and body.
They also took potential contaminants into account that could affect things like hair, skin, and nails.
BEAUTY IS A STATE OF MIND
First, Clarin’s tackled the question of skin health based on different US states.
States like Montana and West Virginia topped the charts — likely due to a clear water supply.
Clarin’s also told The U.S. Sun that a clean canvas is a must for glowing skin.
“The path to glowing skin starts with a fresh face,” Clarin’s said.
“Without a clean canvas, your skin cannot absorb all the goodness from the products you apply — rendering them useless.”
SKIN CITY
Clarin’s also covered the best US cities for a healthier-looking visage.

THE WORST
Clarin’s also warned against certain states and cities that could be harmful to your look.
Some may even contain higher levels of arsenic in the water.
Indianapolis, Indiana was listed as the city with the worst water quality.
Lincoln, Nebraska topped the charts as having the most arsenic found in water.
According to Clarin’s, it “had almost 66% of the legal limit.”
