‘It’s the best’ gardeners rave as they share 99p buy from Home Bargains that’s ideal for transforming patchy grass
GARDENERS are raving about a 99p buy from Home Bargains that’s ideal for transforming patchy grass on a budget.
If you’re a pet owner you may have found that some sections of your grass in your front or back garden have become slightly patchy.
Home Bargains stores are selling a 99p product which will help save your garden grass[/caption] A pet owner took to social media to ask other gardeners how she could fix her patchy grass[/caption]It may be from when they go to the toilet, or it may even be other wildlife causing it.
Other reasons for patchy grass include insects and hot weather, but it doesn’t mean it is unfixable.
Taking to the Facebook page B&M Bargains, Extreme Money Saving and More, one pet owner asked other gardeners how to fix her patchy grass problem.
She wrote: “Looking for recommendations of the best grass seed for patchy grass!
“We have a dog but he tends to ‘go’ round the edges so it’s more wear and shady areas.
“I’ve gotten seed from B&M before but my other half thinks cheap seed is rubbish and we should be paying for the branded stuff at £18 a box!!
“I disagree! Which seed from B&M do you find works the best??!”
The post attracted lots of attention with many gardening whizzes sharing their knowledge to help the pet owner.
One recommended a Home Bargains product which costs less than £1.
They wrote: “I brought a 99p box of express grass seed from Home Bargains and it was good to put over big patches I had in my garden.”
Another suggested: “I got so fed up of putting seeds down and the birds always taking it so still had patches so I mixed bird seed in with it. It worked a treat xx.”
“You could buy a roll of turf for a few quid and cut and fill the patches,” a third said.

Others didn’t see a difference in “seed quality” from different stores.
One wrote “I don’t think there is much difference in seed quality, there are differences in types of grass and how quick they grow.
“It’s the prep that makes a difference.
“Make sure you take the ground first to loosen the soil and water regularly. There will be directions on box x.”

And someone else suggested a bargain from Amazon.
They wrote “Dogs and sprogs lawn UK ltd from amazon, used it several times and always had good results and nice and hard wearing grass (used in different gardens).
“I have even had it growing in Jan/Feb time.”
