I’ve made over £1,200 on Vinted and it’s all thanks to overpricing my stuff & a certain photo I use every time
SELLING your old clothes on Vinted can be a great side hustle, but most of us struggle to even get one or two sales.
Rebecca Hilliard, however, claims to have made over £1200 in just two months by using these simple hacks on the app.
If you are struggling to make your first sale on the Vinted, you should probably follow this influencer.
Rather than gatekeeping how she made thousands on the app, Rebecca regularly shares her tips and tricks on TikTok.
Better known as @rhilleard, she even revealed that she made 121 sales between January and February alone – earning her a whooping £1,232.
So, what is her secret?
The 19-year-old says that it is often down to how she prices her items, with her upping the price by a few pounds as most people will haggle with her.
In a now-viral video, she explained: “I always price my items a couple of pounds higher than I’m happy to sell for…that way if someone happens to offer you lower…you can be happy to accept.”
She even showed photos of her YK2 inspired items going for well over £20, despite the clothes often being thrifted or second hand.
However, this wasn’t her only hack for cashing in on the reselling app.
According to the Vinted expert, her items got more likes when the main image showed her wearing the clothes.
“I’ve found my items gain much more traction and sell quicker when the cover photo is an image of me actually wearing the item,” she told her followers on TikTok.
Posing in front of a neutral and clutter free background also helped according to the content creator, with her revealing that this also improved her sales.
Having used the reselling app for over two years, she has also learned when cut her losses with certain clothes.
Rather than them sitting on her page for months at a time, Rebecca will keep the listing live for three weeks before deleting them and re-uploading the item.
Though this can be time consuming, it helps to boost the item as it reappears in people’s Vinted feed for a second time.
Unsurprisingly, these tips and tricks have helped the content creator make a lucrative side hustle online.
In the comments, she even joked that she was ‘addicted’ to the resale app.
Responding to a fan complaining about their poor sales, Rebecca wrote: “I was like that at first but then I became addicted to selling and packaging things up…I find it therapeutic.”
However, most of her fans were thankful for the advice with her video getting over 71,000 views after it was posted on TIkTok.
One fan gushed: “This is amazing advice Thank u!!!!”
Another added: “No because I hate when I don’t know what the clothes look like on a body. Thank you so much.”
With all these tips and tricks, you’ll be well on your way to make your first sale – just like Rebecca.

If you want a super speedy sale, these tips and tricks can help you on Vinted.
- Upload regularly – it sounds simple, but doing this can help boost your other items too as shoppers look for bundle
- Know your schedule – is Christmas or Easter coming up? What about the summer holidays? Try to get ahead of the trend and upload items that people will be looking for on the app.
- Picture Perfect – Vinted users often want to see what items look like on a person. Make sure this is your main image, if you can.
- Postage – as well as know what postage you need, you can also choose what couriers you want to use via the settings menu.
- Top pick – if someone likes your item, it’s best to send them a DM offering slight under your asking price (only 50p or £1). Often this will be the nudge they need to buy it.
