Just hours left for Wetherspoons punters to enjoy a pint in ‘buzzing’ pub before it closes – full list of venues at risk

WETHERSPOONS fans may soon have to find a new local as another pub is set to close in just hours.

Punters could lose as many as 15 Wetherspoon drinking spots as a “buzzing” pub prepares to shut its doors.

The Lord Arthur Lee in Fareham, Hampshire, will close on Sunday (April 28) when it transfers to a new owner.

Reacting to the news on Facebook, one punter said: “Real shame. Great value pub doesn’t rip you off like most places.”

Another wrote: “Fareham is crying out for a large pub with music.”

A third cried: “Genuinely RIP.”

The venue also has rave reviews on Google, with regulars calling it “buzzing” and “friendly”.

The chain – which has 827 pubs across the UK – warned in September 2022 that it was putting dozens of its pubs up for sale.

So far, 46 Spoons sites have closed their doors and many more remain up for sale.

The Flintshire Wetherspoons will close its doors for on May 12.

Meanwhile, The Bears Head in Penarth, Wales has also been put up for sale.

Most recently, the London and Rye Wetherspoons has been put on the market.

The Sun has contacted Wetherspoons for comment.

Of these sites, eight are currently under offer.

This means that a buyer has presented an offer that is being considered by the seller.

It doesn’t mean that the sale is guaranteed, and it could remain open if it doesn’t complete.

• Foot of the Walk, Leith
• Poole, The Quay
• London and Rye, London
• The Bears Head, Penarth, Wales
• The Rochester Castle, London

The eight Wetherspoons branches that are currently under offer are as follows:

• Wrong ‘Un, Bexleyheath
• Jolly Sailor, Bristol
• Alfred Herring, Palmers Green, London
• The Cross Keys, Pebbles
• The Regent, Kirkby in Ashfield
• The Sir Daniel Arms, Swindon
• The Hain Line, St Ives
• Market Cross, Holywell
