‘Selfish and immature’ people slate mum for not wanting to breastfeed so she can down wine & get Botox
A WOMAN has been slammed as ‘selfish’ and ‘immature’ by trolls for not wanting to breastfeed her child.
Jessica Holly Wright explained that when she was pregnant and just a few weeks away from giving birth, she was torn with whether to breastfeed or not.
But whilst many expectant parents may debate whether to breastfeed due to discomfort, awkwardness or lack of confidence, Jessica’s reasons were slightly more unique.
She revealed that she didn’t know whether to stick to formula so that she could get her regular beauty treatments, as well as being able to enjoy multiple glasses of wine.
Jessica took to social media to share her confession, leaving people open-mouthed.
Posting online, Jessica shared a video of her dancing to Tyrique Hyde and Whitney Adebayo’s Love Island song ‘Bad B***h’.
Alongside the short video, Jessica mimed along to the lyrics: “It’s giving bad b***h, bad b***h, bad b***h.”
Not only this, but the young woman penned: “POV: You’re a few weeks away from giving birth and torn between breastfeeding your baby or sacking that off because you want some Botox, a chemical peel and five glasses of wine.”
Where Botox is concerned, according to Medical News Today, such injections have not been reported to transfer from mother to child.
However, Botox injections contain neurotoxins that can be dangerous in large doses or for people allergic to these chemicals.
Though the research is still limited, Botox injections may also be able to spread to other nerves or cells in the body, causing unintended symptoms.
Whilst it is unclear whether or not Botox toxins can spread to a nursing child through breast milk, most doctors recommend avoiding Botox whilst breastfeeding.
Not only this, but according to the NHS, alcohol can pass into your breast milk and then into your baby when you feed them.
An occasional drink is unlikely to harm your baby especially if you wait at least two hours after having a drink before feeding.
However, regularly drinking above the recommended limits can be harmful for you and your baby.
BIG DIVIDE
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @jessicahollywrightx, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up a staggering 806,100 views.
But social media users were totally divided by Jessica’s claims – whilst some could understand and shared the same stance, others were stunned.

A second chimed in: “I can feel you.”
Whilst someone else wrote: “Sack it off.”
What are the recommendations around breastfeeding?
The NHS recommends breastfeeding your baby exclusively (feeding them breast milk only) for the first six months, but it’s completely up to you to decide when you want to bring it to an end – and there’s really no right or wrong way to do it.
The NHS says weaning often happens gradually as your baby begins to eat more solid foods.
They note that solid food shouldn’t replace breast milk, as there is evidence to suggest breast milk helps a baby’s digestive system when processing solid food for the first time.
“Once they are eating solids, your baby will still need to have breast milk or formula as their main drink up to at least their first birthday,” recommends the NHS.
“Cows’ milk isn’t suitable as a main drink for babies under one, although it can be added to foods, such as mashed potatoes.”
You can also combine breastfeeding with formula, too and the NHS says “phasing out” of breastfeeding is often the easiest way.
For example, dropping one feed in the day or at night time.
After around a week, you can begin to think about dropping another.
“If your baby is younger than one year, you’ll need to replace the dropped breastfeed with a formula feed from a bottle or (if they are over six months) a cup or beaker, instead,” they say.
You can breastfeed for as long as you want, and while the NHS recommends breastfeeding your baby exclusively for the first six months, you shouldn’t feel like you cannot continue for longer.
The World Health Organization says: “Exclusive breastfeeding is recommended up to 6 months of age, with continued breastfeeding along with appropriate complementary foods up to two years of age or beyond.”
However, at the same time, not everyone was as kind or understanding.
Many were shocked at Jessica’s claims and slammed her decision not to breastfeed her baby.
One person said: “Selfish tbh.”

“Should only be about the health of the child and the health of the mother.”
A third commented: “The last thing on my mind! Immature!”
However, Jessica later clapped back to the haters and confirmed: “This video was before I was pregnant, does anyone just look at old videos?”
She then set the record straight and revealed that she decided to go against her initial thoughts when it came to feeding her child.
She shared: “I am breastfeeding.”
