JLo’s ‘sex siren’ fashion transformation for the Met Gala will be so ‘far removed from her days as Jenny from the Block’
JLO will hit the red carpet at tonight’s Met Gala in New York City and probably won’t think about her childhood growing up a few miles uptown in the Bronx.
According to a stylist, while the Hollywood star’s outfit will be a world away from her Jenny from the Block days, the choice will have been careful.
Jennifer Lopez, 54, shared a clip on Instagram on May 1 showing her favorite Met Gala looks.
The Atlas star wore a cascading red sequin Versace dragon gown and a pastel blue Valentino dress from 2017, both with a ’60s updo.
“Dress not just for the party life offers,” part of the clip was captioned.
“I can not WAIT to see your look for the met this year, I just know it’s going to be absolutely breathtaking as always,” reacted one fan.
“Met Gala Queen,” added another.
Stylist Lalla Bronshtein said the pop star “will stay true to herself” at the star-studded gala.
JLo — who recently released her ninth album, This Is Me… Now — is co-hosting alongside Bad Bunny and Zendaya.
“I have a few different sketches, I’m still deciding,” she told Vogue in April.
“I am one of those people who chooses at the last minute,” she added.
“When JLo co-hosts tonight, she will stay true to herself but use her iconic style more,” Bronshtein told The U.S. Sun.
“She will look sophisticated but sexy by wearing a glittery or sparkly floor-length silhouette-shaped gown.
Whatever she chooses for the Met Gala, it will be far removed from her Jenny From The Block days.

JLo’s beginnings as a young dancer and singer included crop tops and low-rise jeans.

Bronshtein said the star looked “playfully sexy” when she first shot to fame.

JLo’s iconic Versace dress for the 2000 Grammy Awards was just as unforgettable.
She was dating rapper Sean Coombs, then called Puff Daddy, and caused a storm with her chiffon jungle print slashed past her navel.
JLo has since called the dress her “most famous” fashion moment.
Bronshtein claimed the flimsy chiffon number marked the beginning of JLo’s movie star status and an uptick in her style.
Now, she is one of the highest-paid Latin actresses in the world, having appeared in box-office hits such as Monster-In-Law.

Off the red carpet, JLo settled for comfortable sweats.

Bronshtein said JLo consistently channeled “simple sexiness.”

JLo’s stylists are Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn. They have worked on her wardrobe since 2010.

Embracing motherhood also appeared to kick-start her next fashion era.
“Naturally, over time, with age, work, kids, and different relationships, your style changes,” Bronshtein said.
“When JLo married Ben Affleck, her style had already matured to a more demure and sophisticated style.
