I’m a teacher with a very rude sounding last name – getting bullied by the kids isn’t even the worst of my problems
A TEACHER has revealed that she has a very rude last name, but said that getting bullied by her pupils isn’t even the worst of her problems.
Andrea, took to social media to reveal that her last name is Forcum.
Andrea said her students thought bullying her would be too easy[/caption] She said she found it difficult to pick names for her kids[/caption]In a TikTok video, she explained that she inherited the name after marrying her husband.
She said: “When I first met my husband, I was like, ‘I’m sorry, how do you spell it?
“Oh, my God, high school must have been a nightmare for you.”
Andrea, who is from the US, said that when she first became a teacher, she was very worried about being bullied by her high school students.
However, she said that the bullying wasn’t as bad as she thought it was going to be, as the children mostly made fun of the name behind her back.
She said: “I thought it was going to be every day, but they didn’t say much.
“Actually, I was a little disappointed.”
When Andrea asked her students why they weren’t making fun of her, one replied that it was “low hanging fruit”.
However, she revealed that the worst part about her unfortunate surname was having to pick baby names, as she found a long list of names that would not sound good paired with Forcum.
Jack was a no no, as was Richard, due to its often shortened nickname, Dick.
Andrea said that she did contemplate having a double barrel name, however, her maiden name was Neil, meaning her surname would have been Neil-Forcum.
Andrea’s video, which was posted under the username @educatorandrea has likely left many open-mouthed, as it has racked up over 1.3 million views on the video sharing platform.
TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts, with many sharing their own unfortunate names.
One person said: “My maiden name was Shatwell.
“I swear I married my husband because I love him.”
A second person said: “We have a teacher named Smallwood…. you can imagine how that goes for him”.
A third said: “We had a teacher named Mr forward. you’ll never guess what he got fired for.:
A fourth added: “I had a teacher named Bonner, she had it written above the bookshelf in single letters.
“One of the N’s kept disappearing”.
