WHETHER they’re caused by genetics or a lack of sleep, under-eye circles are a common skincare concern.
A health professional revealed the four free hacks you can use to brighten your dark circles.
Dr. Michael Aziz spoke exclusively to The U.S. Sun about his skincare tricks for reducing under-eye circles.
The anti-aging expert broke down the four most effective techniques for brightening your under-eyes.
“Dark circles can result from aging, genetics, and fatigue,” he explained.
To combat this, Dr. Aziz recommended regularly applying cold compresses under your eyes.
The experts at Cornea Care revealed how this trick works to brighten the area.
“A cold compress reduces blood flow to the skin around the eyes, reducing the discoloration of dark circles under the eyes,” they explained.
Dr. Aziz also suggested elevating your head while you sleep and ensuring adequate sleep to mitigate dark circles.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, elevating your head “prevents fluid from collecting under your eyes at night.”
For his next tip, the skincare expert advised anyone concerned about under-eye bags to use a different type of bag to tackle them.
“Cold tea bags are also beneficial due to their antioxidants and caffeine,” he said.
Caffeine is a vasoconstrictor and can tighten blood vessels.
Finally, Dr. Aziz recommended incorporating facial massages and skin peels into your skincare routine.
He also warned against excessive use of fillers when it comes to anti-aging efforts.
“Many women opt for fillers or expensive laser treatments, which can sometimes lead to poor outcomes or even accelerated aging,” the expert explained.
“Fillers should be used conservatively; excessive use can alter facial appearance significantly.”

He added that “inexperienced use of microneedling devices can cause fat loss around the eyes.”
Fat loss around the eyes, which typically begins around age 35, can make you look older.
Instead, he recommended considering new treatments such as lasers and microneedling with radiofrequency, available through medical professionals.
“Cryotherapy can also boost collagen production,” Dr. Aziz said.
He also suggested red light therapy as an alternative for those who dislike cold treatments.
“It’s important to focus on skin rejuvenation and collagen building rather than masking imperfections with botox and fillers,” he said.
“Cellular rejuvenation is key to maintaining great skin at any age.”
Dr. Aziz previously shared his go-to skincare ingredient for effective anti-aging.
He explained that his recommendation may be better than retinol or vitamin C.
“Studies indicate that a peptide called GHK-Cu may offer superior results compared to both retinol and vitamin C,” he explained.
