Ratings: CBS Edges ABC With Sunday’s ‘Big Brother’
“Big Brother” was big enough to withhold another Sunday ratings win from ABC. The reality competition carried CBS to an outright victory last night, when NBC kept Fox out of third place.
There were some local-market preemptions last night to accomodate NFL preseason football.
CBS was first in ratings with a 0.9 rating/4 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 4.9 million, according to preliminary numbers. At 7 p.m., “60 Minutes” had a 0.8/4 and 7.8 million viewers. At 8, “Big Brother” earned a 1.8/7 and 6.4 million viewers. “Candy Crush” at 9 got a 0.5/2 and 2.4 million viewers. A rerun followed.

ABC was second in ratings with a 0.8/3 and in viewers with 4.5 million. After repeats, “Steve Harvey’s Funderdome” at 9 received a 0.8/3 and 4.2 million viewers. At 10, “The $100,000 Pyramid” put up a 0.7/3 and 4 million viewers.
NBC was third in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in viewers with 2.7 million. “The U.S. Gymnastics Championships” from 7-9 averaged a 0.6/2 and 2.9 million viewers. Reruns filled out the rest of the network’s primetime.
Fox was fourth in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in viewers with 1.5 million. The conclusion to the 2017 U.S. Amateur Championship at 7 had a 0.3/1 and 987,000 viewers. Repeats followed.

Univision was fifth in ratings with a 0.4/2 and in viewers with 1.2 million.
Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.3/1 and in viewers with 1.1 million.
The CW does not nationally program Saturday and Sunday evenings.
