Janitorial

JOB SUMMARY

Seeking janitorial candidate who takes pride in a clean work environment and ensures the shop and other areas are clean and tidy. Assists with Company events and other facility related projects. Reports to the Shop Manager.

DUTIES

• Maintain cleanliness standards and upkeep for L.H. Thomson
• Order janitorial supplies
• Monitor and restock supply closets, cabinets, and stations
• Clean:
  • Sweep shop floor and vacuum rugs daily
  • Scrub shop and break room with Tennant machine weekly
  • Sweep loading dock and around dumpster area as needed
  • Shop-grinding room 1
  • Tennant floor machine and Toyota forklift
  • Grinding Room 1 and 2 air filters
  • Mops and buckets daily
  • Beckart pit area as needed
  • Shop basins, drinking fountains and vacuum shop rugs daily
• Dispose of cigarette butts in all butt cans
• Dump aluminum recyclable chips on schedule in 48’ trailer outside
• Pressure wash outside parking area, walkways, curbing, and patio area annually
• Must be certified by Thomson to drive forklift
• Weigh and store recyclable material (solid scrap, titanium chips, and nickel bronze chips)
• Assist with the storage and disposal of business files and other heavy lifting
• Empty hoppers and trash containers daily

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma/GED
• Previous janitorial experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to move around the manufacturing facilities and offices
• Must be able to communicate with staff
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to wear safety glasses
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, twist, stoop, reach,
• Must be able to push vacuum, push Tennant floor cleaner, use industrial broom and mop,  and climb ladder

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Office environment in manufacturing facility with moderate noise level and concrete floors.
• Exposure to physical hazards from equipment and machine parts, fumes, dust, mist, oils, and cutting fluid.
