Tokayev Reshuffles Government Lineup
Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev appointed new ministers and advisors on September 25 and 26, in what seems like a major government reshuffle.
On September 26, Tokayev appointed Yermek Kosherbayev to the top job at the ministry of foreign affairs. Murat Nurtleu, his predecessor, was appointed assistant to the president.
On the same day, Tokayev appointed Yerzhan Kazykhan, his former assistant, to the post of ambassador to the UN representative office in Geneva.
The day before, Zakarya Kunsulu, Yernar Baspayev, and Zulfiya Suleimenova were fired from their post of advisors to the president. Bakhytzhan Sapiyev was appointed advisor to the president.
On September 25, Tokayev had fired Kanat Sharlapayev and Tamara Duisenova from their post of assistant to the president.
