Mormon Wives’s Jen Affleck Roasts Her Cousin Ben Affleck
Family doesn’t just include people in your very extensive family tree. After months of defending herself against the Cousin Ben Affleck rumors, Jen Affleck has had the last laugh. Or the last cup of coffee in a new commercial for Dunkin’. As a cashier eagerly calls out an order for “Affleck,” Jen appears, asking the employee if he was expecting “my cousin Ben.” She then introduces herself as “the Value Affleck” with “twice the personality for half the price.” Like a true family member, Jen starts to roast her cousin Ben for being “so dated” and a “weathered 53” before the camera pans to Ben in the drive-thru. “Rude!” he shouts before calling himself a “totally average 53.”
In season one of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Jen claimed she was distantly related to the Accountant actor through her husband’s family as they all share the same last name. However, once the series took over everyone’s TVs, some internet sleuths determined that their family trees do not cross. In the following season, Jen’s husband, Zac, claimed his family was only kidding when they mentioned the actor, but Jen did not interpret their repetitive comment as a joke.
Despite all the “he said, she said,” it seems she has the approval of the real Afflecks. When Jen met her long-lost relatives on-set, “his daughter was there, and she’s a huge fan. She’s like, ‘It’s okay, we can be related. As long as I’m related to Jen, we’re chilling,’” Jen told US Weekly. “He was so nice. I was not expecting it. I was not expecting how nice he was.”
