The White Lotus Season 4 Will Be Très Magnifique
Mike White just might be dedicating an entire season of The White Lotus to his beloved French bulldogs. The HBO series will head back to Europe for its upcoming fourth season. This will be the first repeat continent for the series after stopping by Oceania through Hawaii in the first season, Europe via Italy in its second, and, most recently, Asia by way of Thailand. Justice for Antarctica! Below, everything we know so far about the location, location, location of The White Lotus season four.
Where is it set?
Former cast member Parker Posey and HBO CEO Casey Bloys separately confirmed during the September 14 Emmy Awards that The White Lotus will be set in France. “Mike is in the south of France now, so that’s where season four’s gonna be,” Posey told E!’s Heather McMahan, seemingly without realizing that she was confirming this news. She added, “I have no idea if I’m in it.” Later that evening, Bloys told Deadline the new season is “France for sure, but details and location TBD.” And those TBD details seemingly include Posey’s employment.
So no ski season?
O ye of little faith. HBO partners with Four Seasons hotels to double as White Lotus resorts, and there are three in France: One in the heart of Paris, one on the French Riviera, and one in the French Alps. Most speculation has focused on the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, a.k.a. the Riviera-located hotel, according to Deadline, since White was seen staying at the nearby Le Negresco. Does that mean all hope is over for the fabled winter season of TWL? We won’t believe it until White is back in a swimsuit.
What has Mike White said?
Bloys mentioned that White is currently in the process of writing season four. White has not confirmed any details about season four yet, however, he did say “I want to get a little bit out of the ‘crashing waves against rocks’ vernacular” in an HBO Max video at the end of season three. Maybe that means the winter season lives after all. Parker Posey, get your ski suit ready.
