Bills fans bring energy to the stands of St. John Fisher for training camp
PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Bills Mafia has been eager to see their team back in action, and on Wednesday fans showed up and out for their team at St. John Fisher University.
"It was very energetic, it was awesome to see everybody support all the players on our team, and be out here and encourage them," said Amber Nelson, whose family traveled in from Grandview, Texas to visit family and see their team. "It was a huge family atmosphere so it was great."
For siblings James and Stephanie Mirras from Seneca Falls, for the past few years, they've made a poster hoping to get as many autographs at training camp that they can.
"We do a sign every year. For my 17th birthday, "Hey 17, I'm turning 17" got it signed by Josh," said Stephanie Mirras. "Last year we did the great debate, "drums vs. flats" got a ton of different signatures from the Bills players. This year we're doing the farewell season, hopefully we get a bunch of signatures as well, like a big card."
As Wednesday was Bills Mafia's first chance to get a glance of this year's team, many fans shared what they're hoping to see in the upcoming season ahead.
"I'd like to see a lot of returning players, people from my dad's era, my grandfathers era," said James Mirras. "They grew up with that stadium, I grew up around The Ralph, Highmark, New Era, all of that, so I'm excited to live out the final days of Highmark Stadium, excited for the new one."
"Good first practice, nice to see everyone healthy and hopefully everyone stays healthy and it's a good season, "said Tyler Seamens from West Seneca. "Hopefully they can carry the momentum into the season and they get further into the playoffs this year."
