Man killed in shooting at Wegmans Warehouse

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man in his 20s has died after a shooting that occurred on Saturday evening at the Wegmans Warehouse in Gates.
Chief Robert Long of the Gates Police Department spoke with the media on Saturday evening about the incident.
Long stated that police responded at 4:15 p.m. to the Wegmans Warehouse located at 1500 Brooks Avenue for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, the victim was found to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect reportedly fled the area, and authorities have confirmed there are no immediate threats to the surrounding businesses or area.
The shooting prompted the response of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police, Gates Police Department, and the Greece Police Department.
At this time, authorities do not believe that the incident is connected to Friday's shooting outside of an Amazon Distribution Center in Gates.
At this time, the circumstances that led up to the shooting are unclear, and the suspect has not been publicly identified.
The Gates Police Department asks that anyone with information regarding the shooting contact 911 or Crime Stoppers.
