Not kidding: Smoke detectors recalled for being a fire hazard!

One model of smoke detector sold on Amazon for household use is being recalled for the fire danger it presents.

Apparently, it doesn’t cause fires, just allows them.

Which they aren’t supposed to do.

Fox Business reports thousands of the smoke detectors are being recalled because of their “fire hazard” issue.

“The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said in a notice that 11,000 LShome Photoelectric 3-Pack Smoke Detector Fire Alarms may fail to activate promptly if the sensing threshold of security warnings is set too high,” the report said.

The report described the alarms as circular, white, with a light sound warning and a test button.

They were available for purchase on Amazon from February 2024 through December 2025.

The affected model number is XG-7D04-KZ9Z and the SKU number is CX-50YP-A5VN.

Experts recommend the units be thrown out.

Not the Bee said some 11,000 units were targeted by the recommendation.

“A smoke detector only has one job to do, and it sounds like this batch doesn’t do it,” the report said.
