From 5k ft to shattered in seconds: What caused Lion Air's fatal plunge?
The single-aisle Boeing aircraft, assembled in Washington and delivered to Lion Air less than three months ago, appears to have plummeted nose-first into the water. The aircraft slammed into the sea with such force that some metal fittings were reduced to powder. Investigators examining Flight 610, in which 189 people died, are trying to determine the factors behind the crash.
