SHEFFIELD UNITED want Huddersfield midfielder Jonathan Hogg to help them find their feet back in the Premier League.
But former Terriers boss David Wagner is keen for Hogg to rejoin him at new club Schalke.
Jonathan Hogg is wanted by top-flight clubs in England and GermanyReuters
The midfielder, 30, joined Huddersfield in 2013 and played a key role in the club’s fairytale return to the top flight in 2017 under Wagner after a 45-season absence.
The German left the club in January by mutual consent and new boss Jan Siewert was unable to stop them sliding back in the Championship.
Wagner was last month appointed head coach at Schalke, who finished a disappointing 14th in the Bundesliga.
Hogg’s current Huddersfield deal runs until next year, although the club has an option of a further season after that.
The newly-relegated side may be prepared to cash in on him, especially if the interest from both the Blades and Schalke drives the price up.
