John Kavanagh to offer light heavyweight prospects a shot at the big time at EFN: Manchester
John Kavanagh's promotion returns with a one-night light heavyweight tournament offering a shot of a contract with a major organization.
Irish MMA coach John Kavanagh has relaunched his Euro Fight Night promotion, and is all set to host a one-night, eight-man tournament with a big prize up for grabs for the winner.
EFN: Manchester takes place at the O2 Victoria Warehouse on Oct. 19, with eight emerging light heavyweight prospects set to do battle in a one-night tournament with the winner earning a multi-fight deal with “a global MMA organization.”
The one-night tournament will be held under the Unified Rules, with opening round and semifinal matches being contested over one five-minute round. The final will be run over two five-minute rounds, with a deciding third round implemented in the event of a draw.
Ten fighters have been confirmed for the tournament, with the tournament and reserve bout lineup set to be announced closer to fight night:

The event will feature SBG coach Kavanagh in a post-fight analyst role, as well as Bellator and “Geordie Shore” star Aaron Chalmers. Commentary will be provided by British play-by-play man Bryan Lacey, with WWE NXT ring announcer and former BAMMA presenter Andy Shepherd set to anchor the broadcast.
EFN: Manchester is expected to be the first in a host of shows from Kavanagh’s promotion, with plans already in place to hold future shows in Liverpool, England; Belfast, Northern Ireland; Dublin and the United Arab Emirates in 2020.
