Arsenal target £52m-rated Eredivisie top scorer Malen but face transfer fight with Barcelona
ARSENAL are reportedly plotting a move for £52million-rated PSV Eindhoven star Donyell Malen.
Sport claims the striker, 20, could be in line for a big-money move next summer after storming to the top of the Eredivisie goal-scoring charts with ten goals in nine games.
However, Barcelona are said to also be keen as they hunt for Luis Suarez’s long-term replacement.
Malen looks to be the real deal after emerging as PSV’s latest young star.
And with the ability to also play on the wing, Malen could be the next player in the door at the Nou Camp.
But Arsenal remain confident they can strike a deal after Malen spent two years with the Gunner’s youth side between 2015 and 2017.
He did not make a senior appearance for Arsenal before being shipped off to PSV by Arsene Wenger.
But successor Unai Emery is said to be a huge fan and could sanction a deal to bring Malen back to the Emirates.
However, Arsenal may have to pay a whopping £52m for the privilege, with Malen already being capped three times by the Netherlands.
He also made 31 league appearances last season as PSV won the Eredivisie title.
And Arsenal may have to sell in order to raise the funds required for Malen’s signature.
Exiled Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny is said to be a £13m winter target for flagging Italians AC Milan.
