NFL playoff power rankings: Playoff chances for every team entering Week 7
If there was any doubt about the 49ers’ legitimacy entering Week 6, they answered the critics by beating the defending NFC champion Rams on the road to remain undefeated on the season. With a game against the winless Redskins up next, the 49ers’ Super Bowl chances should continue to rise as we approach the midpoint of the NFL season.
To determine which teams have the best chance of making the playoffs in 2019, we crunched the numbers from the most recent playoff models from three major outlets – ESPN FPI, Football Outsiders, and Five Thirty Eight. Each team is ranked in order of their average projected chance to qualify for the playoffs. We’ve also included each team’s Super Bowl chances, according to the models.
BIG WINNERS FROM WEEK 6:
Texans: Deshaun Watson proved he’s every bit as special as Patrick Mahomes in a statement win over the Chiefs, and his Texans now have an 80.6 percent chance of making the playoffs.
Vikings: Has Kirk Cousins turned the corner? A week after throwing for 306 yards, Cousins one-upped himself by throwing for 333 yards and four touchdowns.
BIG LOSER FROM WEEK 6:
Rams: At 3-3, the Rams season isn’t a total disaster yet – but they’re currently third in what has proven to be one of the toughest divisions in football. Another loss dropped their playoff chances to just 26.3 percent.
Here are the current playoff and Super Bowl chances for all 32 NFL teams:
