Changes set to take place at Higashi-Fukuoka High School after 4 students were injured
Over the last few days the Kyodo News revealed that there is set to be changes in the safety procedure of boxing at the Higashi-Fukuoka High School following some rather incidents involving the boxing club.
According to the reports from Kyodo News a "high level member" has injured 4 students from June to September this year, giving at least student a broke nose and another some injured ribs.
The "high level member" is said to be one of the prefectures top prospects, though wasn't named in any of the reports we could find. Whilst those injured included at least one young boxer who had only been boxing for a few months.
Worst of all it appears there was an instructor at the club whilst this went on, showing little regarded to the younger trainees, with the director of the boxing team stating as much.
At the moment it appears new measures will come in to try and prevent novices from taking such damage to more experienced fighters in training.
Whilst there is nothing to suggest the young hopeful acted illegally, it does seem very much like the coach turned a blind eye to certain activity.
