Hiroki Okada officially announced for November 2nd show
Earlier today an official press conference in Japan saw Hiroki Okada (19-1, 13) [岡田 博喜] have his next bout announced, and as previously reported, back in September, it will take place on November 2nd against Javier Molina (20-2, 8).
For Okada the bout will be his third in the US and follows his February thriller with Raymundo Beltran, a now forgotten bout but one of the hidden gems of 2019. The bout saw Okada loss, via stoppage, but put on a hell of a fight, rocking Beltran in what was a genuinely exciting back and forth bout.
For Molina, a 2008 Olympian, the bout will see him looking to build on momentum from 3 straight wins, including one over Abidel Ramirez back in March. He's a very technically and skilled fighter, but hasn't managed to live up to expectations of those who thought he'd make a mark at a much higher level following his amateur career.
This bout is one of the supporting bouts to a card that features Miguel Berchelt (36-1, 32) defending his WBC Super Featherweight title against Jason Sosa (23-3-4, 16) and an IBF Super Flyweight title bout between Jerwin Ancajas (31-1-2, 21) and Mexican challenger Jonathan Javier Rodriguez (21-1, 15), and will be shown on ESPN+ in the US.
