Panya Pradabsri targets hard hitting World Champions
A recent Thai article on the excellent Komthai have revealed that Petchyindee and CPF have some big plans for the talented Panya Pradabsri (31-1, 20) [เพชรมณี ก่อเกียรติยิม], aka Petchmanee CPF.
At a recent event Panya's promoter revealed that they are looking to get their man a world title fight with either the WBO Light Flyweight champion or the WBA "regular" Light Flyweight champion.
The Thai, who has won 13 in a row following a very questionable decision in China against Xiong Zhao Zhong, is currently ranked by the WBO (#3), WBA (#5) and WBC (#14) and is looking to make the most of those rankings. His team have expressed their desire for him to face either WBO champion Elwin Soto (16-1, 11), the hard hitting Mexican who shocked the division last year with a stoppage over Angel Acosta, or WBA regular champion Carlos Canizales (22-0-1, 17), the Venezuelan nightmare who has beaten a trio of notable Asia fighter since 2018.
Whilst they are the two men that Panya is targeting, the hope is to not only secure the fights, but also home advantages, something the fighter's team admitted wasn't going to be easy, but something they were going to do everything they could to secure.
Prior to that match up Panya will be in action later this month, in a tune up bout against an Iranian opponent with the hope being that he will just tick over as his team go to work behinds the scenes and look to land him a long awaited shot at the top.
