Man Utd handed massive Jude Bellingham transfer boost as Dortmund put all summer business on ice

MANCHESTER UNITED have been handed a massive boost in their bid to sign Birmingham City wonder-kid Jude Bellingham.

Borussia Dortmund – their biggest rivals to sign the 16-year-old this summer – have now put all transfer business on hold.

The Bundesliga giants were favourites to lure the midfield starlet away from St Andrew’s this summer but that was before the coronavirus crisis took hold.

Now United could press home their interest in Bellingham.

The talented midfielder has already been shown around their Carrington training complex and given the five-star treatment.

And now German magazine Kicker have revealed Dortmund have frozen all transfers.

Their sporting director Michael Zorc is quoted as saying: “This summer will be unpleasant.

“After all, we don’t know when to start playing again.

“There is a lot of uncertainty in all clubs. We first have to manage this crisis situation.”

Kicker claims the uncertainty has forced Dortmund to implement a lockdown setting as far as transfers are concerned, which could affect their pursuit of Bellingham.

That news could tilt the balance in favour of United landing one of the UK’s top young prospects and persuading Bellingham to stay in England.
