She shapes as though this extra furlong will be ideal and trainer William Haggas has a decent record in this race.

Santosha took a big step forward when taking the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot last month. She hung slightly so was still showing signs of inexperience but got the job done well. She won’t mind how the ground rides as she’s gone well in all conditions.

Hala Hala Hala was second that day but has had a breathing operation since which could bring some improvement as could the first-time tongue tie.

Jessica Harrington’s horses are always respected and Ryan Moore takes the ride on Sussex Garden. She won a Naas maiden before going close in a decent race there. There’s clearly more to come.

Miss Amulet is another Irish raider with potential. She landed a Listed contest over the minimum distance 17 days ago and shapes like she’ll stay. Her best efforts so far have come with cut in the ground.

DEVIOUS COMPANY should have too much class having gone close in red-hot races on his past two starts.

He started his career with a couple of minor wins at Haydock before stepping up for seconds in the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket before another big Group 2 effort at Glorious Goodwood. He should have no issues dropping back in distance and is the one to beat.

Uncle Jumbo created a good impression when winning on debut at Doncaster in June. He’s had a break since then but a repeat would put him on the premises at a big price.

Tinochio was a bit unlucky in the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury when he came from a long way back. The step up from five furlongs should give him more time to hit top gear.

Happy Romance won that 25-runner cavalry charge with a fair bit left in the tank. He’ll be a big threat again if lasting home.

Adaay Dream won nicely on the all-weather at Newcastle and ran to a similar level when second on the Rowley Mile. He’s had a couple of months off since then and has more to offer.

Painless Potter is interesting for Alan King. He’s been running in Group contests and his best effort came when fifth in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot over this trip. A repeat of that would give him a chance at tasty odds.

PROMPTING was so impressive when winning a big handicap over this trip at Glorious Goodwood last time. He was able to cruise into contention and bide his time waiting for the gap to open before powering home.

That came after a blistering success here over when he had plenty in hand. His mark of 95 looks more than fair.

Montatham looks a big threat after a battling success at Sandown followed his close second in the Royal Hunt Cup. He likes plenty of pace on and should get that today in spades. He’s creeping up the weights but has lots of quality.

Sir Busker was murdered in running behind Prompting last time. He finished with a full tank of petrol in ninth after getting no luck. He’s 11lb higher than his Silver Hunt Cup win at Royal Ascot but will be competitive again.

Top Rank extended his 100% win record to four with a bloodless success at Thirsk last month. He didn’t have to come out of second gear and it will be interesting to see how he goes in this stiffer company. He must be on the shortlist.

Solid Stone didn’t fire here last time after a good Sandown win and could bounce back for Sir Michael Stoute and Ryan Moore, while Shelir has been running well without winning but may just prefer a furlong shorter.

IT must be LOVE after he impressive victory in the Oaks last time out. She won that Classic by nine lengths and is could have been more as she powered away from her rivals.

That was her third Group 1 success after victories in the 1,000 Guineas and Moyglare Stud Stakes last season. We know she loves this trip and only the ground turning very soft would give her rivals a serious chance.

One Voice can fill the forecast spot after a neck second to the top-class Fancy Blue in the Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. She saw out the 1m2f trip there and Jessica Harrington’s hope is likely to get this extra quarter-mile.

Frankly Darling was fancied for the Oaks after winning the Ribblesdale Stakes well at Royal Ascot. She ran a good race in third but was no match for Love. That was just her fourth run so John Gosden’s filly is entitled to improve.

Rain would help the chances of Manuela De Vega who loved the heavy ground when taking the Group 2 Lancashire Oaks at Haydock last time. There was juice underfoot when she almost landed a top prize in Germany last season and she stays strongly.

Franconia showed her liking for this course and distance when winning a Listed race here last month. This is tougher but she should find more for tackling this extra two-furlong trip.

VIVIONN can go one better than her second in this race 12 months ago. We have only seen Sir Michael Stoute’s filly once since then and it was a good effort returning from a long break to finish third at Haydock.

She was just behind Fanny Logan who went on to win the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot and Manuela De Vega who took the Lancashire Oaks on her next start.

Award Scheme was in winning handicap form here two runs ago and went close in a Salisbury Listed race seven days ago. She is stepped up in distance here and would have every chance if lasting home.

Albaflora has had just two runs but looked a good prospect when finishing a close second in a Group 3 here last time. She was doing her best work in the closing stages so this longer distance should help.

Sea Of Faith is coming back from a year off but was going well before her break. She landed a decent handicap over this trip and deserves to step up in class but may just need this.

Gold Wand liked York when second at Listed level latest after struggling in the Oaks. It’s still early days so there could well be more to come.
