NBA Draft 2020: Making the case for the top 5 draft prospects as the No. 1 pick
Don’t look now, but the NBA Draft lottery is already upon us. We’re only about two months away from the 2020 NBA Draft in October and we still have no clue how things will shake out.
This is one of the most unpredictable drafts ever. For the first time in years, there is no consensus number one pick.
But it’s not because there aren’t any good players in the draft — there absolutely are. We just haven’t seen them for a myriad of reasons.
COVID-19 is the obvious one. With the NCAA cancelling March Madness earlier this year due to the pandemic, we lost a lot of opportunity to get film on some of the best prospects like Anthony Edwards.
And then, on top of that, some of the best prospects in this draft have missed time on the court. LaMelo Ball had a bone bruise that sidelined him in the NBL and James Wiseman was ruled ineligible at the start of the season.
So now, here we are with a number of prospects who have legitimate cases to make as the best player in the draft. Here are the cases for — and against — each one.
