Pezzella: ‘My future depends on Fiorentina’

Fiorentina captain German Pezzella said his future depends on the club and claimed Dusan Vlahovic is not affected by the rumours.

The Viola defender’s contract expires in June 2022 and the former Real Betis player has been linked with a move away from the Artemio Franchi already this summer.

But Pezzella, who has appeared 138 times for the club, said his future only depends on what Fiorentina want to do.

“My future depends on what the club wants,” Pezzella told SportMediaset. “I’m here and I’m the captain.

“I always do my best.”

Vlahovic, who scored another brace in the 4-0 win over Cosenza in the Coppa Italia on Friday, has been linked with a move away from the club too.

“The rumours of the transfer market remain outside the group,” Pezzella continued. “We don’t think about it and we must give our all every day with respect for the fans, even if football is unpredictable.

“Dusan is here and is committed like everyone else.”
