Mariners surpass A's with 3rd straight head-to-head win
Kyle Seager homered to reach 100 RBIs for the first time in his career and Chris Flexen pitched seven strong innings as the Seattle Mariners defeated the host Oakland Athletics 4-1 Wednesday night.
Ty France also homered for the Mariners (83-69), who pulled within 2 1/2 games of the American League's second and final wild-card playoff position. The A's (82-70) fell 3 1/2 games back.
