Kameda Vs Parejo delayed!
Back in October we reported that former world champion Tomoki Kameda (37-3, 20) [亀田和毅] would be returning to the ring on December 4th to take on Venezuelan fighter Yonfrez Parejo (24-4-1, 12) in a WBA Super Bantamweight world title eliminator. It's been announced that that bout has had a new date set for it, with the contest being delayed to December 11th.
The reason for the 1 week delay was due to the number of events taking place in Mexico on December 4th, and the lack of necessary officials that would be needed.
Speaking about the delay Kameda explained that it was common for fights overseas and that he's had a lot of experiences similar to this. Despite the change he is in a good place mentally and his weight is where it needs to be. He also explained that fighting the main event at the Centro De Usos Multiples, the venue where the bout will be, is an honour.
Interestingly Kameda also explained that the bout would be shown on his YouTube channel, giving fans outside of Mexico a chance to watch the contest legally.
