And fittingly, the Lions paid respect by wearing black armbands during their Championship game against Stoke City.
Crawley Town also followed suit in their match at home to Swindon Town.
SunSport’s greatest intro writer, Jiggins taken far too soon from his loving wife Kelly, daughter Millie and all his family and hundreds of friends.
SunSport’s Phil Thomas wrote in his touching tribute piece: ‘Whenever I am struggling to find the right words for an intro, there is one person I always call.

Jiggo was also an exceptionally funny writer, entertaining readers every Saturday with his acerbic Week at the Knees column.

He first joined The Sun in 1990 as a messenger before rising through the ranks to become a staff writer.
Sun head of sport Shaun Custis said: “We are all deeply upset by Paul’s passing. He was an immensely popular member of The Sun sports team who had a special talent for entertaining the readers.
“He was also a great friend to the press pack who covered Spurs with him and he will be greatly missed at Millwall, the club that was so close to his heart.
“The tributes which have poured in from all over the country say it all.
“Our thoughts are with his family and his many friends at this very sad time.”
Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino also paid his respects to Jiggo.

“He was probably one of the most regular journalists we would see at our press conferences at Spurs and many times you could expect a question to make you laugh.
“He was there from the start of our Spurs journey in Seattle on pre-season, the first British journalist to hear me try to speak English!
