Anton Walkes death updates — Charlotte FC defender dies at 25 in ‘Miami boating accident’ as team pays tribute

CHARLOTTE FC defender Anton Walkes has tragically died this morning, sporting director Zoran Krneta confirmed.

It has been reported that he died in a tragic boating accident in Miami at just 25 years old.

Major League Soccer described Walkes as “a talented and dedicated player.”

It continued: “We extend our deepest condolences to his partner, family, friends and the entire Charlotte FC family.”

The league said it will provide resources and support to Walkes’ teammates and family members.
