UFC 283 weigh-in results: Everyone makes weight for first PPV of 2023

RIO DE JANEIRO – MMA Junkie was on-scene and reporting live from Friday’s official UFC 283 fighter weigh-ins.

The early weigh-ins took place at the UFC host hotel in Rio de Janeiro and precede the ceremonial weigh-ins for the fans, which take place at 3 p.m. ET at Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro. The same venue hosts Saturday’s event, which has a main card on pay-per-view following prelims on ABC and early prelims on ESPN+.

Among those weighing in wrere former light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira (33-8 MMA, 16-6 UFC) and Jamahal Hill (11-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC), who fight for the vacant title in the main event, and flyweight champ Deiveson Figueiredo (21-2-1 MMA, 10-2-1 UFC) and former champ and current interim titleholder Brandon Moreno (20-6-2 MMA, 8-3-2 UFC), who meet for the fourth time in the co-feature rematch

All four title-fight competitors made weight, as did the other 26 fighters on the card. The only fighter to struggle was main event backup fighter Anthony Smith (36-17 MMA, 11-7 UFC), who was four pounds heavy on his first attempt on the scale. Fortunately for him, however, his services don’t appear to be required.
