Jim Boeheim didn't stay away from college basketball very long.
The former Syracuse coach retired at the conclusion of last season, ending a legendary 47-year career that included five Final Fours and a national championship. But with the 2023–24 college basketball season near tip-off, he is reportedly getting back in the game.
Boeheim will join ESPN for the upcoming season as an in-game and studio analyst, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. An official announcement from the network is forthcoming, but it's uncertain when Boeheim will debut on the network.

Additionally, Boeheim will work as a radio analyst for Westwood One during the 2024 men’s NCAA tournament and may also call some games during Championship Week.
Prior to his coaching career, Boeheim played at Syracuse as a guard. After eight years as an assistant, he became the Orange’s head coach in 1976. Boeheim compiled a 1,015–441 regular-season record (a .697 winning percentage) during his 47 years on the sideline. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2005.
