26 killed, 62 injured in road accidents in Uganda during New Year holidays

KAMPALA, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Twenty-six people were killed and 62 others seriously injured in road accidents across Uganda between Dec. 30, 2023, and Jan. 1, 2024, a government spokesperson said Wednesday.

The fatalities were seven motorcycle riders and four passengers, 13 pedestrians, one car driver, and one pedal cyclist, said Michael Kananura, public relations officer of the Directorate of Traffic and Road Saf
