Elton John becomes the latest to join the prestigious EGOT crew with an Emmy win

The legendary singer Elton John became the 19th person in history to complete the difficult EGOT achievement, winning the elusive Emmy Award on Monday night at the 75th iteration of the awards show. EGOT status means someone has won at least one Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony over the course of their career.

Stars like Rita Moreno, Aubrey Hepburn, Andrew Lloyd Weber and John Legend are among those that have accomplished the impressive feat.

John’s Emmy Award came for Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium in the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) category.

He has won two Oscars in his career, both for Best Original Song with “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” from The Lion King in 1994 and “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again” from Rocketman in 2019. His Tony came in the Best Original Score category for Aida in 2000. John has five Grammys and one Grammy Legend Award over his career.
