U.S.-led airstrikes hit Houthi targets in central Yemen: official

ADEN, Yemen, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- The United States conducted a series of airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen's central province of Al Bayda on Tuesday, a Yemeni official told Xinhua.

Yasser Jahlan, a local government official, said that the strikes occurred just several hours after the Houthi group claimed responsibility for a missile attack against a U.S.-owned oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden.
