Sooners Use Mid-Game Run to Pull Away and Beat West Virginia
Oklahoma's men's basketball team went on an 18-5 run spanning the two halves and eventually built their lead to 19 on their way to a 77-63 win over West Virginia on Wednesday night at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.
The Sooners trailed 20-16 with five and a half minutes left in the first half when they went on the decisive run that built a nine-point lead.
It eventually reached 19 with just under eight minutes to play as OU ended a two-game losing streak and won their sixth in a row over the Mountaineers in Norman.
Jalon Moore led OU with 16 points, including several spectacular dunks.
Rivaldo Soares and Javian McCollum both scored 13 points, while Otega Oweh had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
OU outshot WVU 49 percent to 46 percent, and outrebounded them 33-19.
The Sooners had to overcome 19 turnovers but were never in danger of losing the lead in the second half.
Oklahoma improves to 14-3 overall, 2-2 in Big 12 play.
The Sooners visit Cincinnati Saturday at noon.
