Kansas Routs Cowboys in Lawrence
The Kansas men's basketball team never trailed, shot 58 percent from the field and beat Oklahoma State 83-54 on Tuesday night at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas.
The Cowboys suffered their worst loss to Kansas since 2007, and combined with their 24-point loss to KU in Stillwater, their average margin of defeat in the two game series was -26.5, their second worst ever in the series and worst since 1966.
In the first few minutes of the game, OSU guard Bryce Thompson was fouled on a layup attempt and injured his shoulder, leaving the game and not returning.
All five Kansas starters scored in double figures, led by K.J. Adams 16 points, who had three alley-oop dunks.
OSU's John-Michael Wright led the Cowboys with 16 points, making four three-pointers and surpassing the 2,000 point mark for his college career.
Brandon Garrison was the only other Cowboy in double figures with 11 points.
OSU falls to 9-12 on the season, 1-7 in Big 12 play.
The Cowboys host Kansas State on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
