These MLB players are still wearing the old pants at spring training instead of Nike's see-through Fanatics pants

When MLB, Nike and Fanatics partnered to design and produce a new generation of big-league uniforms, they probably expected some resistance amongst players. After all, everyone hates change. But it’s been absolutely wild to see just how horribly all three parties have botched the uniforms.

As complaints started to pour in about the cheap-looking jerseys, players and fans quickly noticed that the new pants are see through. And now, we’re at the point where players are simply refusing to wear the new pants at spring training.

How can we tell?

Well, with the new MLB pants, the belt loops in the front have a diagonal cut with single loops. The old pants have traditional double loops in the front.

in case anyone was wondering, it looks like the Padres are wearing the OLD (not transparent) white pants, while Dodgers are wearing the NEW grey pants.

And despite MLB’s push to have players wear these new pants, a look around spring training showed us that plenty of players are sticking to the old pants. We’ll have to see if that trend continues come Opening Day, but MLB can’t be pleased with the amateurish appearance of mismatched pants.
