Joey Votto is spending his free agency hilariously recreating sad memes and fans were impressed
Former Reds first baseman Joey Votto knew his time in Cincinnati last season was coming to an end when the team made it clear that it would buy out the final year of his 10-year, $225 million contract.
And while that chapter of his playing career came to a close, it didn’t mean that Votto wanted to stop playing baseball. Votto did not retire after last season, but there just hasn’t been much demand for a 40-year-old who has battled injuries and struggled to hit over .200.
Still, you won’t find another free agent expressing his desire to play baseball better than what we’ve seen from Votto.
He’s out there recreating memes with exceptional accuracy. I mean, look at this:
That’s an elite effort from Votto who really captured Keanu Reeves’ sadness on that bench. A team could easily use Votto’s presence in the clubhouse. And if anything, fans loved his commitment to the memes.
