The NBA offense explosion has swung too far as unders keep hitting after the All-Star break
Ever since the NBA got back from the All-Star break, unders have been hitting at a monumental clip. The pace has slowed down from a few weeks ago, when they were hitting at a 75 percent rate, but regression for overs hasn’t come yet.
After going 4-2 during Monday’s games, unders in the NBA are 90-56-1 (61.6 percent) since the All-Star Break, which means if you bet every single one blindly you’d have a healthy profit.
The Phoenix Suns (9-1 to the under), New York Knicks (8-1), Charlotte Hornets (9-2) and Golden State Warriors (9-2) have been the teams with the best under records since the break.
“It could be variance, but I think I have to agree with some of the media I’ve seen/heard,” Halvor Egeland, a trader at BetMGM, told For The Win. “The refs haven’t been using their whistle as much. Whether it’s a directive from the league or not, there seems to be have been a shift in allowing some more physicality.”
As the sample size grows, it’s harder to simply call this a blip on the radar, but it will be interesting to see how unders perform in the next few weeks.
We’ll be keeping an eye on it.
