Thunder Hold Off Mavs to Return to First in West
The Oklahoma City Thunder shot 52 percent from the field and forced 19 Dallas turnovers as OKC beat the Mavericks 126-119 on Thursday night in Oklahoma City.
In a game with 8 ties and 14 lead changes, the Thunder took the lead for good with an 11-3 run early in the third quarter, but OKC never led by more than 11 points.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 31 points and had 9 rebounds.
All five OKC starters scored in double figures, with Jalen Williams scoring 27 points after missing the last game with a sprained ankle.
Josh Giddey had 18 points, while Luguentz Dort had 12 points and Chet Holmgren 11.
The Thunder were 20-for-23 at the free throw line.
Dallas was playing without the injured Luka Doncic, but Kyrie Irving had 36 points to lead all scorers.
The Thunder improved to 46-20 on the season, tying Denver for the best record in the Western Conference.
The game closed OKC's four-game homestand.
