Ranking the 12 seeds in men's March Madness by how likely they'll upset 5 seeds in the 2024 first round
The history of 12-seeds beating 5-seeds in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament is well known. That’s why these are some of the most popular matchups to target when trying to sniff out first-round upsets
In the last five tourneys alone, there have been seven 12-5 upsets, including two in 2022 and three in 2019. At least one 12-seed has won a first-round game in 32 of the last 38 years.
Though a 12 failed to advance in last year’s tournament, history tells us it’s more likely than not to happen again soon. So let’s rank the 2024 12-seed teams by most likely to win.
