SEC Announces Opponents for 2025, OU Football Schedule Coming into Focus
NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) — The Southeastern Conference on Wednesday announced the plan for the 2025 football schedule.
Each team will play the same teams they play in 2024, except at the opposite location.
That means Oklahoma now knows all of their opponents for 2025, with their non-conference opponents already set with the dates.
Dates for the SEC games will be determined at a later time.
The SEC has considered playing a nine-game conference schedule, but for now has decided to keep it at eight games for the first two seasons OU and Texas are in the league.
Oklahoma will play the following SEC teams at home in 2025: Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, Missouri.
The away games will be at Alabama, Tennessee, and South Carolina.
As they have since 1929, OU will play Texas in Dallas.
The Sooners' non-conference schedule is set as follows:
Illinois State (Aug. 30 – Home)
Michigan (Sept. 6 – Home)
Temple (Sept. 13 – Away)
Kent State (Oct. 4 – Home)
Oklahoma will officially join the SEC on July 1, 2024.
The 2025 SEC schedule format was approved by a vote of the league's presidents and chancellors last week following a recommendation from the conference's athletics directors.
The 2025 season will be the second year that the SEC Championship Game will feature the top two teams in the 16-team Conference standings at the end of the regular season. Beginning with the 2024 season, the SEC will eliminate divisional standings.
