1 bettor is a Clemson win away from cashing a $90,000 Final Four wager from December

The 2024 NCAA tournament has been a chalkier one than previous installments, with favorites winning 15 of the 16 games in Round 2. But one of the teams that made it through was 6-seed Clemson, which upset No. 2 Arizona 77-72 on Thursday night as a 7.5-point underdog.

That’s great news for one bettor at DraftKings Sportsbook, who made what now looks like quite a prescient bet. Back on Dec. 30, 2023, he wagered $5,000 on Clemson to make the Final Four at 18-1 odds. That would pay out $90,000.

Clemson is a 2.5-point underdog for Saturday’s Elite Eight matchup with No. 4 Alabama, so it’s certainly possible his wager hits. If not, he’s in a great position to hedge either before the game or during to make sure he profits.
