The latest 2024 NFL mock draft from ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. and Field Yates has the Rams trading for Michael Penix Jr.

The idea of the Los Angeles Rams getting a quarterback of the future seems like a smart one.

We saw a recent 2024 NFL mock draft from ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. that floated the idea of the Rams — who have an aging Matthew Stafford — trading up in the second round to get Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. Although our latest NFL mock draft from Christian D’Andrea doesn’t have Penix to the Rams, he does have the QB in the second round along with Oregon’s Bo Nix.

In the latest ESPN mock from Kiper and Field Yates, they’ve got the Rams jumping up on Day 2 to get Penix at pick No. 33. Here’s what Kiper wrote:

Matthew Stafford turned 36 earlier this year, and he has dealt with injuries the past two seasons. The Rams could target a passer to start in 2025.
