MLB fans felt so bad for Jose Ramirez after he painfully struck out swinging on a pitch that hit him in the knee
With all the movement and velocity pitchers are capable of unleashing in today’s game, Major League hitters are bound to get embarrassed at some point. Even All-Stars like Jose Ramirez won’t escape it.
But I must say, you won’t see many players strike out in a more painful and hilarious way than Ramirez did on Monday.
Batting in the seventh inning against the Red Sox’s Brennan Bernardino, a 2-2 cutter had the Guardians star swinging wildly and missing on a pitch that hit him on the knee. And because Ramirez swung, the hit by pitch became irrelevant. It was a strikeout – a very painful one at that.
You almost can’t blame Ramirez for swinging at that pitch either. It looked like it was heading towards the zone before some late break took the pitch right to his back leg. MLB fans hadn’t seen many strikeouts quite like that one.
Ramirez would stay in the game as well.
