Fans put a Knicks jersey on the Wilt statue and chanted 'F- Embiid' as they took over the Sixers' arena in Game 4

A new level of disrespect.

Philadelphia has long been regarded as one of the most passionate sports cities in the country. Whether it’s playoff games for the Phillies or Eagles, no team really wants to go through Philly. It isn’t an easy place to play at all.

That’s what has made the first-round atmosphere at the Wells Fargo Center so surprising. The Sixers’ home arena has seen a massive contingent of Knicks fans make the 94-mile trip to Philadelphia. And at times, it has seemed like a Knicks home game.

For Games 3 and 4, every big play for the Knicks was greeted with massive applause that was audible in the broadcast. And after Sunday’s Game 4 win, Knicks fans made sure their presence was felt in the concourses and outside the arena. (Warning: NSFW language in the videos)

Those chants are nothing new at Madison Square Garden, but I don’t think we ever expected “F Embiid” chants to break out at the Sixers’ own arena. That’s just wild.

On top of that, fans made sure to put a Knicks jersey on the Wilt Chamberlain statue outside the arena.

The disrespect was real, and NBA fans had so many thoughts on the videos from Game 4.
