Official: Roma confirm Malen move from Aston Villa
Roma have confirmed Donyell Malen’s move from Aston Villa on loan with an option to buy.
Roma announced their second January signing on Friday, by confirming Malen’s transfer from Aston Villa.

“AS Roma are delighted to announce the signing of Donyell Malen from Aston Villa. Malen joins on loan with an option to buy,” the Giallorossi said in a statement.
Reports in Italy claim that Roma’s option to buy will become mandatory if the Giallorossi qualify for the Champions League or the Europa League this season.
According to Gazzetta, the Dutch striker will earn €4m per season at the Stadio Olimpico.
“The 26-year-old striker has played for PSV Eindhoven, Borussia Dortmund andAston Villa. He has made 294 appearances and scored 104 goals in all competitions for these clubs,” Roma continued.
“A Dutch international, Malen has made 49 appearances and scored 13 goals for the Oranje and was in his country’s squad for the 2020 and 2024 European Championships. In the latter, he played a key role in the Netherlands’ round of 16match against Romania, which they won 3-0 thanks to his brace.

Busy January window for Roma
Malen’s transfer to the Stadio Olimpico comes just a few days after Robinio Vaz’s permanent move from Olympique Marseille.
Sky Sport Italia and Gazzetta claim that Malen could already start for Roma on Sunday, when Gian Piero Gasperini’s side visit Torino at the Stadio Grande Torino.
Roma sit fifth in the Serie A table, but are level on 39 points with fourth-placed Juventus and just one point below Napoli.
